Scientific Initiation interns Jennyfer Castro and Maria Marchiori shared their expectations for the project aimed at conserving endemic species in the Carajás region. They described molecular biology methods, focusing on the plant DNA extraction technique developed by Doyle and Doyle (1990), as well as the quantification of nucleic acids using spectrophotometry and agarose gel electrophoresis. They emphasized the significance of these tools for species conservation.
