On 10/09/24, postdoc Allan P.B. Pozzobon shared with our research group his latest results regarding the amplification, through P.C.R. (Primer Chain Reaction) reactions, of the mitochondrial DNA fragment entitled Cytochrome Oxidase I (COI), this step being of fundamental importance for next generation sequencing (NGS), where it is intended to obtain the identification of more than 30,000 fish eggs, collected in different archipelagos in the North of Rio de Janeiro. Specific spawning information for each fish species is of great importance for greater assertiveness in relation to closed seasons, where fishing of certain species is restricted, aiming at the moments of reproduction and initial growth of fish of commercial interest.
