Researcher Larissa Areal presented the progress of her postdoctoral projects in population genetics, highlighting advances in studies with *Paspalum carajasense* and *Clusia hilariana*. She described the DNA extraction protocol used, microsatellite marker amplification tests, adjustments to the electrophoresis method, and the genotyping process using image analysis. In the case of *Clusia hilariana*, she detailed the comparison between extraction methods, the evaluation of SSR transfer, and tests to verify genetic diversity and possible clonal ramets. Finally, she presented her participation in projects with the PPBio network and the next steps planned in partnership with researchers working in restinga areas.
