Lara Beatriz is an undergraduate Biology student at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Her research focuses on molecular genetics and biodiversity conservation, with special interest in the genetic diversity of endemic Amazonian plant species. She works with microsatellite markers and population genetics in Ipomoea cavalcantei, investigating the impacts of habitat fragmentation and mining on genetic variability and conservation of ferruginous grassland ecosystems.
