Jonathan Mucherino

Summary

I am a Forestry Engineer graduated from the Universidad de Los Andes (2012) Mérida-Venezuela, with a Master’s and Doctorate in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (2019, 2024) Ilhéus-Brazil, and currently a Postdoctoral Researcher affiliated with the Institute of Biodiversity and Sustainability (NUPEM) at the Universidade Federal de Rio de Janeiro.
My research focus has ranged from biodiversity studies of various plant species, host-pathogen interaction with various pathosystems, both plants-oomycetes/fungi and incepts/mites, phylogenetic and molecular evolutionary analyses. I acted as a professor at the Universidad de Los Andes-Venezuela. I have experience in molecular wet-lab and currently focus on Big-data of biomolecules. I am currently part of a VALE-UFRJ multidisciplinary collaboration team with the macro objective of conserving endemic and endangered species in the northern region of Brazil.
