Larissa Areal
Summary
I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Biodiversity and Sustainability (NUPEM/UFRJ). My project involves the population genetics of plant species endemic to the Serra de Carajás (Pará) . I collaborate on population genetics and plant ecology projects.
I graduated in biological sciences at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, where I participated in research into the population genetics of Cerrado species. I also have a master’s and PhD in Botany from the Federal University of Viçosa, during which time I worked on the functional ecology of Cerrado and highland grassland species.
My research areas are plant population genetics, plant ecology and phytogeography. In addition to these areas, I am interested in statistics, programming languages and databases.
