Lupis Ribeiro

Summary

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Institute of Biodiversity and Sustainability (NUPEM) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. My academic and research background is rooted in the field of Evolutionary Developmental Biology (Evo-Devo), where I specialize in exploring the functional genomics of Tribolium castaneum.

My primary research focus revolves around unraveling the intricate role of the transcription factor known as Zelda in both embryonic development and post-embryonic events. My educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree from Universidade Estadual Norte Fluminense in 2009, followed by a Master’s degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2012, and culminating in a Ph.D. in Biosciences and Biotechnology in 2017.

At present, I am engaged in a collaborative effort with VALE, where our research centers on the conservation of endangered species. My expertise in laboratory work encompasses a wide array of molecular biology techniques, including RNA interference, quantitative Real-Time PCR, in situ hybridization, and the use of fluorescent markers for microscopy. Furthermore, my proficiency in bioinformatics spans various essential tools and techniques, such as Genome assembly, Transcriptome analysis, Chip-seq and Atac-seq analysis, differential methylation studies, metagenomics analysis, as well as the analysis of long and short-read sequencing data.
