A master of science and biotechnologist graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, he is passionate about natural sciences and computers and today sees research with crustaceans as an opportunity to find new markets for science. He has worked in biophysics and biomedical engineering, but today his future lies in the molecular biology of crustaceans. His current research is studying whether the Zelda gene is responsible for limb regeneration in a Hawaiian microcrustacean called P. hawaiensis. He is currently a technical assistant at the Laboratory of Morphological and Functional Sciences.
