Thais Lopes holds a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG- 2004), with a postgraduate degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery of small animals from the Universidade Paulista (UNIP- 2011) and a postgraduate degree in clinical medicine for felines from the university center CESMAC (2019). Currently, I am a master’s student at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where I am developing a research work involving the molecular diagnosis of feline sporotrichosis, under the guidance of Professor Rodrigo Nunes da Fonseca, whose main objectives are to determine the prevalence of the disease in felines in the city of Macaé and to develop strategies to control the disease in the municipality.
