Bruno da Costa Rodrigues, a member of the Nunes-da-Fonseca Lab, received the 29th Young Scientist Award in Life Sciences from the Brazilian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBq), held in partnership with Cytiva during the 55th Annual Meeting of the SBBq, in Águas de Lindóia, Brazil. A PhD student at UFRJ, Bruno developed his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Rodrigo Nunes-da-Fonseca, with co-supervision from Professors Adriane Regina Todeschini, Cassandra Extavour, and Wagner Barbosa Dias. His research investigated different aspects of glycosylation across multiple biological scales, including adaptations to extreme environments and microgravity conditions. Representing UFRJ, Bruno was among the four young scientists selected nationwide for the final stage of the award.
This achievement reinforces the excellence of the research developed at the Nunes-da-Fonseca Lab and the leading role of science produced at UFRJ. Congratulations, Bruno, on this historic achievement!
