Members of the Nunes da Fonseca Lab participated in the World Oceans Day event at NUPEM/UFRJ, presenting scientific activities to school groups and audiences from different educational levels. We introduced Parhyale hawaiensis, known as the “Wolverine shrimp,” to discuss its remarkable regenerative abilities, as well as its role in wood digestion. In addition, research related to zooplankton was also presented, promoting scientific outreach and marine biodiversity awareness.
