This week, at the LICM weekly meeting, we had a presentation by postdoc Allan P.B. Pozzobon, with the project on the diversity of species found in ichthyoplankton (fish eggs and larvae), collected in northern Fluminense. According to the researcher, the results found so far point to a preference of certain species for specific regions, such as groupers (Epinephelus marginatus), an extinction threatened species, whose eggs were found only in the surroundings of the Santana Archipelago (Macaé/RJ). As so, it is recommended that management and conservation measures, for groupers in northern Fluminense, be focused on Macaé/RJ at first.
