A research proposal focusing on the morphological differentiation of anurans in Restinga de Jurubatiba National Park (PNRJ) was presented. Inspired by previous studies on the species *Aparasphenodon brunoi*—which demonstrated the efficacy of geometric morphometrics in isolating subtle anatomical variations—the project focuses on the species *Scinax alter* and *Scinax tymbamirim*. These amphibians coexist in the *restinga* (syntopy) and bear a striking visual resemblance, making them an ideal model for the study.
The project’s primary objective is to apply computational geometric morphometric tools to the amphibians’ heads and hands to identify consistent taxonomic traits that allow for the statistical discrimination of the two species. To avoid confounding effects from sexual dimorphism, the analysis will be conducted strictly on a standardized sample of adult males.
